Bates Label Assistant FAQ's

I just installed the Bates Label Assistant. How do I start it?

The Bates Label template is installed in Word’s default template directory. You can navigate to it from within Word. From the File menu choose New and click On My Computer in the New Document task pane. Bates.dot will be listed under the General tab by default. Double-click the Bates icon to start using the program.

I would like to have some leading 0’s in my numbers (such as 00085). How can I do this?

To add leading 0’s to a number remove the checkmark from Match # of Digits in “End” Number and increase the number next to # of Digits Displayed to represent the total number of digits you would like on the label.

I have a sheet of labels that I have partially used. Can I start printing on that sheet at the next available label?

Yes, you can. Click on the Starting Point button. From here you can choose exactly which label you would like to start printing on.

I have installed the Bates Label Assistant, but it tells me the macros are disabled and gives me no options to enable them. How do I fix this?

If you are using Word 2000 or 2002 check to see if your Macro Security is set to High (Tools, Macro, Macro Security). If so, change it to Medium which will allow the Bates Label Assistant to run.
